How To Install Mods:

Configure the default path for the first time:

  • Click on the Gear Gog, and open the Settings window
  • Click on the Blue folder to change this path.
    • Note: This path should be simple, something like C:\7D2D\, D:\7D2D. It should never be in your Program Folders, as you'll run into permission issues.

To Install an Overhaul, click on the INSTALL AN OVERHAUL button

Select which Overhaul you want to explore, and click on the Install button

The 7D2D Mod Launcher makes a copy of the game in order to install the Mod. You may either select Copy From Local, which means it'll copy an existing 7 Days To Die installation, or Download From Steam

Copy From Local:

Copy From Local will make a copy of the existing version of the game that you already have.

You may click on the BROWSE button to select an existing copy of the game, or if shown and is correct, click on the COPY button.

Once the copy is complete:

    • It will delete the Mods folder, if it exists, in the new copy.
      • This does not remove the Mods folder from your original source.
    • It will download the Mod

Download From Steam:

If you do not have a clean Local Copy of the game, you may choose to download a new copy from Steam.

      • Note: You will need to enter in your Steam Username, Password, and the Steam Guard code.
      • The 7D2D Mod Launcher does not store this information.

Enter in your Steam username, Steam password, and the version of the game you wish to install. Then click on the Download From Steam button.

If you change your mind, you may click on the Copy From Local.

When prompted, enter your Steam Guard Code.

Once the copy is complete:

    • It will delete the Mods folder, if it exists, in the new copy.
      • This does not remove the Mods folder from your original source.
    • It will download the Mod
