Modlets are the fun new concept added to Alpha 17 that allows mods to be smaller and more likely to be interchangeable. Finding and installing modlets can be a bit confusing though. The 7D2D Mod Launcher has added in support to help modders and players share modlets.

You can add modlets to your Steam Version of the game, or you can add modlets to an existing mod.

Steam Version

Since Modlets are added to the game when a world is loaded, they can be added directly to your Steam copy of the game. The modlets are available for single player so when you connect to a server to play with friends, the game will use the server's files, and not the modlets.

Let's get started.

1) Click on "Steam Version" in the Mod Listing

2) Pick your Steam Folder under Steam Install, if not already selected

3) Click on Get More Mods

4) The Mod Download will pop up

The Mod Profiles will be set to Default, which will show all the modlets currently available to the Mod Launcher.  The first time loading can take a minute or two, depending on how many modlets are available.

5) Pick a few modlets that you are interested, but click on its check box in the Enabled column

6) Click on Install And Close

This will download and install the selected modlets. The Mod Downloader will close itself when it's done.

7) Playing the Modlets

Back in the main mod launcher screen, you'll see the Installed Modlets.
