What are My Mods?

My Mods is a concept created because of the wide availability of various mods. Modders have been producing many unique mods that are interesting to explore in single player instances. However, with such creative freedoms, comes the inevitable breakdown of any standards. Zip files are packaged differently from one release to another, using a variety of download hosts, and with different installation instructions.

My Mods attempts to standardize mod releases to make it easier for players to play on the latest mods, without having to jump through hoops or risking other modded files.

How do I use My Mods

In the Server / Mod Select screen, right click and choose "Add My Mod".

Enter in a unique My Server Name, and optionally, add a My Server Description.

Click on Add New Download Link, and copy and paste each of the modder's downloadable zip links.

Click on Save

The 7D2D Mod Launcher has two modes: Simple, and Advanced.

Simple mode will use an existing copy of your game, and apply the mods right into your game folder. The tool will save a back up of your XML, and redeploy them every time you switch mods. This option is the quickest and easiest way to get started, and takes up significantly less disk space. Your Steam client will keep this up to date with every new version of the game.

Advanced mode lets you isolate mods from one another by making copies of your 7 Days To Die folders, running each mod from it's own copy. This is helpful if you don't want to risk mixing up mods together, and want to keep them completely separate. Since it's a copy, you'll need to re-make the folder whenever a new version of 7 Days To Die comes up.

We believe that My Mods will help standardize the modding community of 7 Days to Die, and provide consistent content to the players, until Steam Workshop works.

The 7D2D Mod Launcher was designed to deploy downloadable mod files, and install them in the correct play. If a modder structures their downloadable modded file in a standard format, the mod should play.
